A reminder of why this information is so important:

Understand the Law and Exercise Your Right to Practice

The Alliance for Natural Health International’s (ANH-Intl) inaugural professional training day and exhibition was an essential event for all serious CAM practitioners who want to stay within the law when advertising or promoting services to your clients.  But you don’t have to worry if you couldn’t be there; you can now download the day’s proceeding along with the accompanying materials electronically!

We live in unprecedented times, where European regulatory control of our practices is soon to replace self-regulation and even national legislation. During the course of the day, we cut down to the detail of how the complex new rules and regulations will affect your practice. We educated practitioners on how to communicate with clients, and the guidelines and principles behind what you can and can’t say when advertising or promoting your services to remain compliant around the new legislation.

The reason it’s so important to understand principles, rather than just spoon-feeding you with possible, usable phrases, is to allow you to stand out from the crowd and communicate accurately about your own unique approach to your practice.  It’s a bit like a combination lock.  There are almost enumerable different ways in which information can piece together and if you understand the principles that guide you, keeping you the rights side of these laws, you stand the best chance of being spotted in an increasingly crowded market place.

Naturopathy, nutritional therapy, herbalism and related disciplines are all being scrutinised closely by government food and medicine regulators tasked with implementing both national and European Union (EU) laws. Their work is supplemented by that of local Trading Standards officers, as well as the independent advertising watchdog, the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA), whose remit now extends to the Internet (as of 1st March 2011). The timing of this training information is crucial, given the fact that policing of the new laws is being ramped up dramatically by anti-natural health groups and skeptics, such as those in the Nightingale Collaboration, who are specifically targeting CAM practitioners, whom they believe to be making misleading claims.

Make a small investment now and protect your future.
